The new Kosovo government led by Albin Kurti in the first two weeks of her work has focused on abolishing decisions and dismissals.
The first decision approved by the government under Kurti was abolishing the Kosovo government's decision, adopted by 20.12.2017 for government salaries.
With the government's recommendation, increased salaries for government officials would be returned to the level defined by the previous judicial regulation, the news says.
The government's decision to return salaries to the legally defined level as it was before December 20th 2017 did not include wages in the justice system, reports news.
At the same meeting, the Kurti government also decided to dismiss all national co-ordinators appointed by last government Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj.
According to government decision Kurti was dismissed: National Coordinator for State Reform; National Co-ordinator for Climate Change and Environmental Affairs; National Co-ordinator for Culture, Youth and Sports in the Republic of Kosovo; The leader of the Project for Management and Control of Wild Dogs; National Co-ordinator against violent extremism and terrorism; National Co-ordinator for Integration and Membership in NATO; Task Force Against Narcotics Co-ordinator for Youth and School Security.
While at the meeting held yesterday, the Kosovo government has made two decisions that affect the work of past governments.
At this meeting, the Government of Kosovo has abolished the government's decision on former officials' benefits after their mandate ends, arguing that spending will be reduced.
Also, the Kosovo government yesterday at the recommendation of Economy Minister Roseta Hajdari has decided to sack the board of Telekom Directors.
Such a decision has run into Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti's doubts, but his recommendations for further analysis have not been taken into account.
The dismissal of the Tekom Board of Directors was done with the argument that they have violated their financial duties, and Telekom is in crisis as a result.
And today, Prime Minister Kurti himself has warned new dismissals into other local governments.
On February 3rd, only the government has been changed, no boards and no managements have been changed. We can't do this in a day or a week, but we won't stop”, Kurti says.
It is not enough that in the Republic of Kosovo the only power changed to be the government, but other powers must be changed”, he stressed.
Government decisions Kurti on dismissals and abolishing decisions have not been well received by the opposition in Kosovo.
