Numerous studies have only proved that working longer than 39 hours a week is unhealthy for everyone.
But a new study shows that the long hours of work are more harmful especially to women.
In fact, women who work over 45 hours a week are up to 63% more likely to develop diabetes than those who work between 35 and 40 hours a week.
At least that's what a new study, published in the magazine é BMJ Open Diabetes Research & Careé.
For all 12 years, researchers had monitored 7,065 workers (3,502 of them women and 3,563 males) in Canada who had no previous diagnosis of diabetes.
Although there was no connection between the development of diabetes and long hours of work for males, the study has found that the cause of long working hours increases the risk of diabetes in females.
