The first Deputy Prime Minister, Avdullah Hoti, has again made it clear that the tax on Serbian goods will be lifted very soon, as according to him, this is the request of international friends.
However, in an interview given the “Blic Interview”, it has not expressed much certainty that reciprocity will be introduced against Serbia, as provided in the governing programme between LDK and LVV. Hoti said putting reciprocity should be done in consultation and with permission of international factors, with particular US and German emphasis.
He even says Kosovo should not take any action that could be contrary to international demands.
It is known that Ambassador Richard Green, who is US President Donald Trump's special envoy for Western Balkan affairs, has openly expressed days ago that the US demands tax removal and does not want reciprocity established. Such a discussion has even been reportedly held tonight by Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, where the first has indicated reciprocity will be imposed, while the second has said it is an insult to Serbia.
