Forgotten has often been linked to lack of intelligence, according to daily practice.
However, a study conducted by the University of Toronto claims otherwise. According to them, a strong memory is an overrated asset, as long as failure can be a benefit of intelligence.
It's important for the brain to forget non-relevant information and, instead, focus on important decisions”, Professor Blake Richland, head of research.
Professor Richards and Paul Frankland proposed that memory be used to optimize decision making by storing valuable information and letting other trivial things go into oblivion.
They say this aspect of forgetting is perhaps a help to us more than an obstacle.
