Defence Minister Rrustem Berisha, before handing over the post to Prime Minister-elect Anton Quinn, has told Kosovo Press that he is happy that his successor will be a fellow fighter and his friend.
Berisha, who is the first defence minister after KSF entered the transition phase where the KSF ministry was transformed into defence, said the Force is leaving with a new mandate -- the military one.
He voiced confidence that Quinn will continue the successes initiated at the ministry of defence and KSF.
The “E have been lucky to meet Anton Quinn even in the war phase at the Battle of Kosare, was commander of the battalion, but chief of staff after the fall of hero Agim Ramadani. I have full confidence that he will continue with the successes we have begun. I am very happy that the Kosovo Security Force, the Ministry of Defence, is leaving with a new mandate, with military mandate”, Berisha said.
He said after declaring independence there is no greater achievement than transforming the KSF.
But according to him, the Force needs to increase capacity and maintain what is already achieved so that it is the force to contribute to peace in Kosovo and the region.
I am very proud that my successor will be my friend of the war, my co-war and I have full confidence that he will continue with the realization of the goals, the goals that Kosovo citizens welcome”, Berisha said.
Rrustem Berisha today officially hands over the post to Minister-elect Anton Quinn from the LDK ranks in the new government headed by Albin Kurti.
