The Supreme Court of the United States has unanimously dropped an indictment handed down by the Texas authorities, which was aimed at derailing the outcome of the presidential election. This is the worst defeat ever against Trump's attack on democracy.
Through a short one-page order, all nine judges of the U.S. Supreme Court rejected the request for the collapse of the voting process in four states where Trump lost Michigan, Georgia, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
This ruling puts another nail in the coffin of Trump's desperate attempt to change people's will and deny power to elected President Joe Bide, writes The Guardian.
The indictment filed by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton called for an investigation into four important states, calling on the Supreme Court to extend the deadline for election Certificate in order to conduct investigations about allegations of irregularities during the process.
This indictment was supported by outgoing President Donald Trump himself, 17 other states and 126 republics in the House of Representatives.
The long-standing Trump has hoped that the allegations of irregularities in the elections would take the case to the Supreme Court, where he has appointed three judges during his term, ensuring majority of conservatives in the highest body of the justice system.
