“It would be strange to expect good things from people, many of whom built their careers on Russobis and threw mud over my country”, the Russian official said less than a month before the inauguration of Biden at the White House.
Pessimist on reports with the United States was shown Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov. He said he expects nothing positive in relations with the US, writes Free Europe. Relations between the United States and Russia have deteriorated in recent years due to several issues, including Russia's annexation of the Crimea in 2014, Russian intervention in the US and Europe elections, as well as some cyber attacks that Americans have blamed Russia for.
The new American president is expected to take a tougher stand on Russia in terms of foreign policies and respect of human rights compared to his predecessor, Donald Trump, who has been criticised for being very mild towards rival power.
That Russia has not welcomed Beden's victory in last month's elections also shows that Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated his counterpart on his triumph just six weeks after the elections.
