Like Pornhub normalizing child sexual abuse

Groups working on the front line in the fight against child abuse in the United Kingdom have warned that pornographic videos with video content are normalizing child abuse.

On Monday, Pornhub, the biggest website of Internet pornography, reported that he would immediately remove millions of unverified busy videos after an investigation by the New York Times allegedly found content on pages featuring minor children and victims of sexual trafficking. The elimination of videos changed the total number of videos on the page from 13 million to 4 million.

But even after this “cleansing”, charity organisations have said they are concerned that many videos on this site are still promoting child abuse. In a series called “exclusively made for Pornhub”, movies show the fantasies of parents who have sex with their teenage children.

Amanda Naylor from the Children's charity association, Barnardos, told Guardian:

“These pages are not designed to be moderate. People who watch videos are being lured into searching for more and more extreme material, as is the normalization of behaviors in Pornhub, where 10 years ago it would be considered extreme. ”

Naylor and her colleagues are seeing the impact of ever more extreme and violent pornography on their children.

We work with guys who have shown harmful sexual behavior and who have found themselves in the criminal justice system for responding to behaviors they've seen in pornography: shocks, slaps, kicks, fists. Most children to whom I refer have regularly been exposed to pornography. Such restraints encourage the idea that children should and can be sexualized. ”

Michael Sheath, expert on sexual abuse of children, told Guardian:

If you look at videos on the main pages of pornography, you can see subjects for teenagers, the subject of son's, lots of video pornography. It's pretty confusing stuff. When you see them, you start and lower the level of what is acceptable. ”
