Political parties in the country have voiced compliance with organising elections within February, if there is no consensus regarding the presidential post.

In parties that make up the ruling coalition, The LDK and AAK say that if there is no consensus this month and early January, then the last date for organising elections is the end of February. The AAK even agrees on any date for choice. And in Vetevendosje Movement, say the faster elections are held will be better for the country. While in the PDK they do not say they have a month suitable for elections, while also hoping for reaching a consensus on electing the president.

LDK MP Rock Manaj for Kosova Prees points out why the end of February is the last date for organising elections, if there is no compliance with the president.

If we don't reach consensus this month and at the beginning of January, I think the last date when the country should go to the polls is the end of February. We have to keep in mind that an electoral process should be held, and after the election process is the process of certificate results, the Constitution of the Republic Assembly, then the election of the government, which I think will take certain time. We must ensure that the republic's Assembly should be dedicated within April and eventually within 5 May we should elect the president of the republic”, he declares.

And steadfast on the presidential issue, they say, by Ramush Haradinaj's party, which has also expressed candidacy for president. The MP, Paul Lekaj, says Haradinaj's candidacy does not make compromises, until he emphasises that the AAK agrees on whatever date is set for elections.

“Alance has proposed the candidate for president, Mr Haradinaj, this direction we have no compromise. Now, two questions arise, do we want to have a president who will be elected under constitutional terms, or we want to go to the elections... Whatever date the president is not elected, the Alliance agrees to”, Lekaj says.

Keeping elections as soon as possible requires LVV deputy Dimal Basha, who for Kosovo Press, says the sooner they are held, the better the country will be.

We as the Movement are not choosing a favourable month, the sooner the elections are held, the better. Every delay is costing us a bad government, which is costing citizens millions of euros, so the sooner elections are held, the better for the country, and the faster we avoid other institutional crises”, he says.

Meanwhile, PDK deputy Evgeni Thaci-Dragsa says all possibilities must be exhausted for the presidential post.

“should drain all possibilities for the president's position not to be played and not played with this important institution. It must be the power of the coalition first to get things in motion, cannot be sought by others and blamed on others, but the ruling coalition itself must find solutions. Then I think we should have a national consensus and look beyond personal and group goals so that the president's case doesn't serve a purpose for anyone to come to power, or fall by power... I can't calculate any date, no deadline, it remains to be seen”, declares MP Thaci-Dragusha.

Political parties in the country have yet to hold any meetings to discuss the presidential post. As long as it's taken place about two months since the country's top post of office is Vjosa Osmani.
