Family of patients there have complained that there is no oxygen in dealing with the infected, and this has been confirmed by the hospital director. Although Health Minister Andmend Zemaj on Friday did not likely lack of oxygen in Kosovo hospitals, something like this is happening in Gjilan.
A citizen from the Gjilan municipality has complained that at Gjilan Hospital, there is a lack of oxygen, expressing concern for a family member of his hospital. In the absence of oxygen, he has indicated that they have demanded that the patient be sent to the University Clinical Centre in Kosovo for medical treatment.
On the other hand, Ukhshin Ismajli, clinical director of this hospital, has told Express that he has and continues to have difficulty supplying oxygen. He has announced that during today two patients from this hospital have been sent to CKUK because of difficulties in oxygen supply. There were “and there were problems with oxygen supply. Two patients were sent to QKUK today because of oxygen”, he said.
The lack of oxygen in this hospital has been lifted several times from this municipality, from which they have requested emergency supplies. Days ago, Gjilan municipality deputy head Arber Ismajli announced that the General Hospital needs emergency oxygen supply, adding that maximum effort is under way to solve the problem.
While the Ministry of Health has said days ago that the oxygen supply is not in their power, they have refused to be promoted if they are to help public health institutions in the country.
Otherwise, Health Minister Andmend Zemaj has denied that there is a lack of oxygen during a media conference held Friday.
He has called for not creating panicking citizens, saying there is enough oxygen in hospitals.
“Oxigen is essential, so there's enough in hospital facilities. Other new tanks will also be built, which will add another 20 thousand liters of oxygen to”, the minister had declared.
