The new Foreign Service Law will reduce the quota of political appointments and provide precise provisions, as well as judicial security for career diplomats, Kosovo's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora said on Saturday, in a statement following the task force's workshop for reviewing this law.
According to the announcement, the latest comments on the draft law were reviewed before he was sent for consultation and approval to Government.
The new Foreign Service Law will significantly reduce the quota of political appointments and provide accuracy to provisions, as well as judicial security for career diplomats. This law will create a functional, efficient and sound external service based on precise accountability”, the MPJ community says.
The announcement emphasises that Minister Melise Haradinaj-Subla has “-offed its full support to the members of the Workers Group, that the final draft of this Law is professional with the aim of eliminating any possibility for its misinterpretation, as it has happened in the past, and to significantly reduce the quota of political appointments in diplomacy”.
“With this case Minister Haradinaj- Stublla said this is the right moment for this law to be adopted as soon as possible, in view of the need for adapting to the new currentity in foreign policy, as well as the fact that the Foreign Service functions with laws adopted before twelve years”, is further stated in the announcement, with Haradinaj-Stubla saying by this law the current “bushes and inconsequences that allow the mismanagement and interpretation of the incorrect<3>.
At the end of the announcement, it is stressed that the law will have both a transitional provision and diplomatic veto.
