The Kosovo Assembly has completed the work of the plenary session without voting the resolution calling for greater commitment by the Kosovo government in effective co-ordination of state mechanisms for preventing domestic violence. With only 58 deputies in the hall, there was no possibility for decision-making.
Parliamentary debate on combating and preventing domestic violence has been carried out.
The MP from the LDK ranks, Vlora Limani-Hynunni, has proposed the resolution with recommendations she asked MPs to harmonise and after the debate to approve it.
We seek from the Kosovo Assembly after discussions to vote on these recommendations for the Government of Kosovo. Under 1 considered all past recommendations of the Parliament and their involvement in the new law on protection from domestic violence and gender-based violence, which is in the design phase. Under the 2 most effective co-ordination of state-owned mechanisms with NGOs and funds dedicated to domestic violence, three become complementing local government finances and establishing specific grants for social services. Among other things, it would help rehabilitate and re-integrating victims of domestic violence and four become periodic monitoring and reporting on the annual pre-court executive base and applies impartial justice to domestic violence victims”, she said.
