And in a statement to his party page, which is led by Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, PPS, he has said he will work 24 hours a day and seven days a week to change Serbia's image. Commenting on the recent calls by former US Secretary Madeleine Albright and Congresswoman Eliot Engel, that Serbia should recognise Kosovo's independence as soon as possible, Djuric has said that this will not happen and that there is a plan for it.
“Eliot Engel has lost in the election, even within his party. Albania's lobi in the US has weakened to see some recent positions and compared to the previous period. Serbia's goal will be to have a Eliot Engel among US congressmen, senators and politicians” in the coming period, Djuric has said.
Congresswoman Eliot Engel is known as one of the biggest friends of Albanians in the United States. He was a conventioner for many decades but lost his convention elections in June of this year. It was counted as the most powerful Albanian voice in Congress.
