Albanian criminal group seized: In handcuffs, 232 kilograms of cocaine

The operation, codenamed “Atat”, took place from 15 December to 21 December and was conducted by the state police's anti-drug investigative structures, under the direction of the Randa Crimes.
Later, the operation has continued to deepen investigations, identify and arrest leaders of the structured criminal group dealing with cocaine trafficking from Latin America in the direction of Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany.
As a result of the joint investigation became possible the identification of the leaders of this group, and in this context, from December 15th to December 21, 2020, the joint antidrug operation coded “was organised and finalised. ATAS”, in which they were seized in Belgium and put in handcuffs for criminal work “Narcotics Trafficking”, conducted in co-operation, within the structured criminal group, citizens:
- G., 34, and G. B. allis F. B., 37, resident in Tirana;
- R., 27, and F. R., 24, Nykles, Fushesh Krue;
- P., 29, resident of Puka; F. J., 33, resident of Lach;
- N. (Lianish states) and S. C. (Greek states).
As well as citizen F. G., for whom, after the arrest, the Court has ruled in a free condition.
Current “operation ATAS”, at various times during 2019 and 2020, were seized by Belgian police in collaboration with Albanian police, about 232kg of cocaine, a pistol firearm, and about 200 thousand euros

This criminal group worked by uploading narcotics into banana containers from Latin America, hiding narcotics in banana crates and in the bodies of containers.
After smugglers equipped with GPS arrived at their destination, traffickers, if not identified and discovered, organized weapons theft of narcotic matter from warehouses or banana - roasting rooms.

In this megaoperation, for exercise of checks on detention residences were involved in anti-drug investigative structures at the Department of Criminal Police, in co-operation with local police directors Tirana, Durres, Shkodra and Lezha, under the direction of the SPAK.
A group of criminal police specialists also held in Germany and Belgium, joint meetings with counterparts, to coordinate actions that led to the crackdown on this structured criminal group.
At the same time, under SPAK's direction, for Albanian citizens arrested during the operation has begun the enrichment investigation.
