The military has been tracking fugitives named as Private Anton Macarov in Baltimore Air Base, the Investigative Committee has said.
The soldier reportedly caught the officer's gun, which he used to kill the other two in an attack Monday.
A fourth soldier was shot as well, but only injured, writes the BBC, translates Periscope.
RIA Novosti has reported that hundreds of special units were in pursuit. Voronage is about 450 kilometers south of Moscow.
It is not known why the soldier attacked the officer and set fire to his friends. /Periscope
