Full communication:
Jakup Krasniqi was arrested today in Kosovo and transferred to the detention facility of Kosovo Specialised Chambers (“DHSK”) in The Hague.
The arrest was conducted by the Specialised Prosecutor's Office (“ZPS”) on the basis of a confirmed indictment of war crimes and crimes against humanity and in the application of the warrant for arrest and transfer, issued by Kosovo's Specialised Chambers Pre-Procedure Court.
In carrying out the arrest, Z. The SP had the operational and logistical support of the European Union's Mission for Rule of Law in Kosovo (EULEX), in accordance with its mandate and Kosovo legislation. Even Kosovo Police (PK) provided operational support to the SPS.
Further information will be provided in due time, including information on publishing the indictment with necessary editing. In accordance with the 88th Rule of Procedure and Evidence, the indictment is made public no later than the accused's first appearance.
