Pristina Mayor Shpend Ahmeti, through a writing in his account on the teitter, has said that removing a municipality from the red area as a precautionary measure of Covid-19 has become a matter of negotiations and conviction between the mayors of municipalities with the Ministry of Health. Ahmeti has said that South Mitrovica [...]
Ahmeti has said that South Mitrovica is in the red zone. Zaten had decided that way. But, according to Ahmeti, Minister Zemaj and Agim Bahtiri have agreed that even this week will remain a yellow zone.
Ahmeti is seeing this agreement as issues of negotiation and obedience, not as the government's decision to respect.
The South Mitrovica is in the red zone, but after President Bahtiri's meeting with Minister Zemaj they agreed to remain yellow this week too because “we have convinced that we should not be in the red zone”. It means issues of negotiation and conviction”, Ahmeti wrote.

•Mitrovica is in the yellow zone this week and there are no police hours
Together with the Mayor of the Municipal Assembly and the Director of the Health Directorate, I have received today at the meeting the Ministry of Health Minister, Armend Zemaj, where we discussed the current situation with the COVID-19 pandemic in the town of Mitrovica, and the new measures that have been taken by the Government of Kosovo in fighting this pandemic.
I informed the minister of the activities and measures taken by municipal authorities regarding the situation around COVID-19 in Mitrovica, where I pointed to the fact that the Mitrovica municipality remains fully devoted in the fight against pandemic. While, in terms of measures imposed by the Government concerning the deployment of the Mitrovica municipality in the red area, I expressed my opposition even at this meeting, reasoning with precise figures of people affected in our town taken daily by the IKSP, and after these detailed and controversial information, Minister Zemaj has agreed to prepare the decision for the town of Mitrovica to continue in the yellow area, which we expect to be published tomorrow.
In order for Mitrovica to continue remaining in the yellow zone or to make progress and move to the green area, I urge citizens to show maximum care by putting masks in place and strictly implementing IKSEP instructions.
After the visit conducted in the Mitrovica municipality together with the head of the Municipal Assembly, Safet Kamberi has accompanied Minister Zemaj to the Mitrovica Regional Hospital “Dr. Sami Hadzibeqiri”, where they were hosted by the director of this hospital, Enis Istrefi, with whom we discussed the capacities of this hospital for treating patients with COVID-19, and the needs of medical personnel in fighting this pandemic.
