Malisheva Mayor Ragip Begaj, in serious health condition by COVID-19

The news has been revealed by the deputy chairman of the Malisheva municipality, Hajdin Berisha, who hopes that with the strong commitment of health professionals, Begaj will manage to defeat Avid-19.

“Today's 10th day since Mayor Begaj has been tested for Avid-19, the first three days of the period has stayed at home, and he's been made worse by the mayor's condition and we've had him hospitalized. Currently, it is being addressed at the Infective Clinic in Pristina. His condition still stands heavy, but with lasting stability. We are hoping that with all the work being done and the commitment of even health professionals we are hoping for best, otherwise the situation is still dangerous”, he said.

The Malisheva Deputy Mayor, an interview for Kosovo Press, has also spoken of new antiCondavid measures adopted yesterday by the Kosovo government.

He has said that, despite not publicly consulted by the government, these measures are generally ignored in this municipality. O

Like any other municipality, we have generally respected government decisions that were taken yesterday. We too share the thought that a consultation was needed in advance. Although we as a municipality are also at peace with the number of people affected, we are well kept in the media. However, all measures that have been taken yesterday by the Government of Kosovo have been implemented in due course today on the part of municipal mechanisms”, he said.

Pandemia, both in all municipalities in the country and in businesses in the municipality of Malisheva, has greatly negatively affected.

Berisha suggests gastronomial sector hit the most

“Businesses are in a particularly heavy state of gastronomy is one of the sectors that has been affected most by the beginning of the pandemic, it's not their good situation, so concern with those who have protested today. I hope that there will be other modalities to help businesses, especially gastronomy sector”, he said.

The municipalities do not have enough budgets to help businesses, so Berisha holds hopes to the Government, from which he hopes to pass the economic recovery bill as soon as possible.

“We've helped as long as we've been able, but the municipal budgets are limited in capacity, but we've taken something like tax release, periodically released it, but that the largest aid needs to be obtained by the Government, and we are expecting the Law on Economic Recovery to be adopted and taken course because businesses are in a bad situation”, he said.

We remember that the Kosovo government approved additional safeguard clauses Friday from Covid-19. These include closing up many businesses over the weekend.
