The deputy head of the Kosovo Assembly and the PDK, Memli Krasniqi, has reacted sharply to Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq's threats of destabilising the Balkans following the KLA leaders' arrests.
Krasniqi has called on the US, NATO, the EU and the UN react to threats from Milosevic's successor.
This dance must be taken seriously because Alexander today is no longer just beer servant in a fascist regime, but president of the country returning that warmongering doctrine”, Krasniqi said.
Memli Krasniqi's full statement:
In 1998-1999, the Serbian regime of Milosevic exercised genocide over the people of Kosovo. Today, when with false evidence fabricated by the structures of that regime, the leaders of our war for freedom and independence are in The Hague, Vucinic is threatening us with war.
This is the most clear evidence that Milosevic's fascist mentality has been completely restored to the doctrine of Aleksandar Vuciqi. The answer to such a mentality has been received by the KLA and NATO in 1999.
But the impunity of crime and criminals in Serbia, which sparked war and massacres in four states, seems to have angered them enough to seek new wars and massacres. International Community, with an emphasis on The UN, the European Union, NATO and the United States of America must react urgently to this language of threat. This dance should be taken seriously, for Alexander today is no longer a mere beer servant in a fascist regime but a president of the country returning that warmongering doctrine.
In united Europe, which we have committed and trusted, there can be no room for a state that aspires to war against its neighbours.
