US President Donald Trump, seems to have admitted for the first time that his Democrat rival, Joe Biden, won the November 3rd presidential election. Beden was designed winner, eight days ago, by all leading US media, as unofficial results gave him more than 270 Electoral College votes needed to win the White House.
The results made public during the week expanded his supremacy to 306 by 232 of the election college votes. Trump, who has claimed victory several times since the election ended, reiterated his groundless claims that the votes were manipulated in favour of Biden.
“He won because elections were manipulated”, Trump wrote on Twitter on November 15th.
Trump and his legal team have launched a series of challenges despite the fact that election officials throughout the country have said they saw no evidence of serious irregularities.
To ensure the re-election, Trump will have to overturn the Benen's supremacy in some states -- a result that most analysts say is unlikely to happen. Trump's campaign, however, marked a legal victory on November 14th when a Pennsylvania judge ordered the districts not to count a small number of mail balloting, or cases, when voters did not present valid identification on time.
The number of ballots is believed to be several thousand, which are too little to change the outcome in Pennsylvania, where Biden holds an advantage of about 55,000 votes. Courts in Pennsylvania and two other states -- Arizona and Michigan -- have dismissed other indictments. Senior federal and state officials, responsible for election security, said on November 12th there were no “no evidence” that votes were somehow compromised or altered.
