Professor Albana Fico, a member of Albania's Technical Committee of Experts in a media statement said that “following moderate-intensity measures, with limiting the movement after 22:00 and limiting the activity of bars and restaurants after 22 p.m., given the dynamic assessment of the situation, the Technical Committee has estimated that it is necessary to have additional moderate intensity measures to contain the spread of the <x1 infection.
“After having analysed the situation and risks, the performance of the epidemic in the country and the response of citizens to the undertaken measures and decided to stop gatherings with more than 10 people in open and closed places to stop party meetings and gatherings, as well as conferences, holiday ceremonies, wedding ceremonies and organisation beyond the home of the baptismal ceremonies, until a second order, Fico stressed.
According to her, the Technical Committee of Experts is carefully monitoring the COVID-19 situation and the performance of the epidemic in the country as work on testing, tracking and isolation of suspected cases and their contacts follows.
The situation remains controlled, but at a risk level added because of the rise of positive daily cases, clearly expressed with a 14-day incidence increase in 243 cases per 100,000. The total number of active cases has undergone an increase of 504 per 100,000. The number of patients in hospitals has suffered increases compared to a week ago”, Fico said.
Fico said that “in three COVID hospitals have been laid down 406 patients. Currently about 20-25% of the capacities are still at large in the four facilities dedicated to handling cases, while regional hospital inclusion scenarios are ready as soon as there's going to be a launch of four COVID hospitals. Intensive therapies have a stable number of patients in intensive care. The percentage of life loss in relation to the number of affected is 2,2%”.
Fico appealed to citizens to implement the established rules.
“Put on your mask, store your hygiene, keep your distance from others who are not your family, and limit your contact to the most. Each of us has the power to curb the spread of the epidemic. Only with civil authority co-operation can the spread of the coronary. Respect the rules, contribute to restricting the spread of COVID-19, to lower the overload in hospitals to maintain your health and your families”, Fico said..
