“Switzerra is already a hot spot in Europe”, federal adviser Alain Berset added.

Bars and restaurants must now be closed at 11:00, reports ATS.

Events of more than 50 persons are prohibited, and sports and cultural events, involving more than 15 are also forbidden.

Entrance to quarantine will only be required if travelers come from a 14-day incident, which is more than 60 cases higher than in Switzerland.

Today, Switzerland and Liechtenstein registered 8616 new infections in the last 24 hours, marking another major increase in the two countries, which have a combined population of about 8.6 million.
