Selimi says statements issued by the Specialised Chambers for Thaci and Veselin are disturbing, but that he believes in justice.
“This is a concern and disappointment which I have publicly expressed, but other actors also say when a statement comes out from the Special Chambers which is more political because I think the prosecution does not issue statements but should make investigations and freeze the indictment. But when the country's president is hit, the former head of the Parliament is disturbing to be hit in such statements”.
The justice system has its own job. That court is Kosovo's after being voted in the Parliament and has constitutional amendments and must do the job, as other courts in Kosovo” do.
“Tensions will be manageable as we believe in justice and we know our war has been clean and this has been proven on many occasions in The Hague. We shouldn't be afraid of justice, but normally every time this justice tries to make some kind of policy then we have to be concerned because doing politics in justice is the kind of social stick that's placed on us”.
We believe in justice and have always believed in justice, and this justice will certainly turn out the same as in the other”.
Is there any danger that Haradinaj will also face charges?
“Haradinaj has been twice acquitted of The Hague tribunal, I think his case is closed even in Specialised Chambers”.
The mysterious way they've been approaching this whole case is to worry, because I don't think there's any need to do all this mysticism, but if there's evidence there's a criminal procedure that needs to be followed and not issue statements and talk inside-out”.
The “Fests when they were sent too often have been unclear and it is not known whether someone is being called a witness, whether accused or suspected. This has created much more fog but in justice we do not fear”, Selimi said.
Selimi, among other things, said the KLA war was noble and the Specialised Chambers should not fear that someone could escape justice because all its members are able to testify to the noble war they fought.
