A research has shown why you feel tired and nervous on a rainy day.
The main reason for waking up on rainy morning is more difficult than usual, or that during rainy days more napping is because of hormonal changes, the study of Pennsylvania State University is highlighted,
If the day is rainy, there is less light during the day, so there is less serotonin and more melatonin, hormones that are directly responsible for spirituality and vigilance.
Serotonin is a hormone that offers us general sense of well - being, energy, and good humor. When its level is low, our greatest chances are that we will feel more sleepy, tired, and generally melancolic.
Melatonin, on the other hand, is the hormone that offers us a sense of drowsiness.
When our eyes detect the darkness, they send signals to the brain, which then releases the melatonin hormone that serves the brain even to establish the sleep cycle.
However, scientists point out that the sound of rain is also important in hormonal changes. When the sound is calm or on average powerful and steady, like the fall of rain, our brain interprets it as a soothing signal.
In addition, this soothing noise would have “filled” some less pleasant sounds that would have disturbed and upset us, for example, the sound of the automobile or the voices of people on the street.
