The 74-year-old on Friday reported on Twitter that he and his wife, Melanie, had tested positively for the virus.
A March study published in The Lancet, medical magazine, had found that while the overall death rate for people with Covid-19 was 1.4 percent, it was raised to 8.6 percent for people in their 70s, reports Guardian.
This study was based on data received from China.
Dr. Barry Dixon, an Intensive Care physicist at a hospital in Australia, said that Trump's risk would increase if he developed pneumonia, which is associated with the high mortality rate of Ovid-19, especially among people over 65 years of age.
“He will have a lot of risk of dying if he develops bad pneumonia,” said Dixon. There are other risk factors and co-deficibility such as if you are smokers, have diabetes, or have heart disease. The main factors for Trump are his age and overweight. ”
