The text says China's “campaign against the waters, ethnic Kazakhs, Kyrgyz and other members of Muslim minority groups in the autonomous water region of Xinjiang constituted genocide”.
This resolution was announced Tuesday by senators from across the American political spectrum, though it does not seem possible to pass immediately after the Senate is not expected to meet until after next week's elections.
Senator John Cornyn, a republic that initiated the resolution, said: “This resolution recognises these crimes for what they are and is the first step in holding China accountable for its monstrous actions. ”
Senator Democrat Jeff Merkley, meanwhile, said the resolution would indicate that the United States “could not remain silent”, writes The Guardian, translate Periscopi.
Others co-incidating include senators Marco Rubio a close ally of Donald Trump in foreign policy and Robert Menandez, a famous Democrat. /Periscope
