Children are a blessing, but there are times when they really get on your nerves, especially when they act rude. Emma Jenner, the star of Take Home Nanny, certainly knows what children can be like, given that she has made a living taking care of them. According to Jenner, it's not just imaginary that modern children are really less polite than previous generations, and there are five reasons why that might be so.
We want to help parents understand their children better, so we're sharing Jenner's ideas with you.
1. Lack of Proper Community
Modern parents strive to be independent when it comes to raising their children and feel that other people who try to help are crossing their limits, even if they are their children's grandparents. By contrast, older generations knew that a community should be involved in a child's life. This teaches children respect for other adults in their lives. Otherwise, they grow up thinking that they should not have any emotional attachment to other community people.
2. We've become too tolerant.
When children behave badly, we often tolerate it because they may be too young to understand their actions. We feel like children are naive and innocent. Children are quick students, so it is important that we correct bad conduct quickly enough so that they can see that certain habits are wrong.
3. Parents Play Things for Short
Years ago, children were fortunate to be allowed to listen to the radio on the road and to wake up early Saturday morning to watch the cartoons. Nowadays, children have tablets, iPads and more, and can enjoy their favorite music, movies and television shows without waiting too long.
The problem with such ease is that with all this recreation, parents do not need to interact with their children as much as they have done before. Children need to develop a human relationship and cannot risk becoming very independent at an early age.
4. Parents Feel Emotionally Negative
Modern parents have learned to give their children more space and to value their thinking. That, however, is not a bad thing in itself, but it can be excessive. Children should be content with ways they respect that they will not be children forever. When you give them more privileges, make sure that it comes with more responsibility. If they are involved in after - school activities, inform them that certain aspects of it, such as preparation, are up to them to do.
5. Children take a lot of time from their parents ' times
Children are supposed to be the center of their parents ' lives, but parents also need time for themselves. Not only is it wholesome for parents but children also need to understand that parents need to calm their moral development.
Parents need to explain that they do not exist only for their children, and children will learn that all should be treated with care and respect.
