In Kosovo, 24 thousand families, or about seven percent of family economies, depend on social assistance from the state.
Pandemia has also burdened the serious situation in which they live, until authorities say they have decided to double the amount of money these families receive for the next three months.
Social assistance in Kosovo ranges from 60 to 180 euros.
Avni Kastrati from the Statistics Agency said that in May alone, the registered number of these families has increased by 160 sosh.
