US President Donald Trump says that Qasem Solemann, Iranian general killed in an attack on American fears, planned to blow up the American Embassy in Baghdad.
I'll say this we've caught a complete monster. We destroyed it. It should have happened a lot earlier. We did it because they were meant to blow up our embassy. We did it for other obvious reasons. Someone died, one of our men from the army died. Some people were seriously injured just a week ago”, Politico quoted Trump as saying
A little later, in a rally as part of his election campaign in Toledo, Ohio, Trump said Solejman was planning attacks on numerous American embassies.
“Solejmani was actively planning new attacks and taking our embassies seriously, not only the embassy in Baghdad, but we stopped him,”, the president told his voters.
According to Reuters, Trump has turned Solemann's murder into a topic of his campaign.
