Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama has congratulated the great Albanian writer Ismail Kadare on France's assessment with the highest state title “The Grand Agent of the Honorary Legion”.

Ismail Kadare writes somewhere that “in contrast to the material riches each country enjoys, spiritual values obey other laws. There is no people to create these just for themselves”
The National Order of the Honorary Legion, founded by Napoleon Bonaparte in 1802, seems to have in its generation what Ismaili writes on the other “laws, and although specifically French, that internationally well-known and popular order, belongs to the whole world.
Under that “law”, France has for over 23 years adopted and attached the Albanian writer to the degree of prestigious Cavalry Society of the Honor Legion, where it listed those who most highly respect on this globe. And today Ismail Kadare has climbed the scale of the Grand Officer of this order so he becomes part of a very narrow circle of personalities with this title, worldwide.
In 1802, the founder of the Order's Legion, Napoleon Bonaparte, expressed himself: “must establish a command to mark virtue, honor and heroism, an outstanding reward and sum up in its own circle, the elite of the nation”. A heartfelt wish of Ismaili and a thank you to the president of the French Republic, who appreciated high on this first day of the new decade an Albanian belonging to France and the whole world, with great credit
