Avni Bytyci, adviser to PDK leader Kadri Veselini, has said that in the mandate of Chief Parliamentary Veselin, journalists, media and civil society have never been left in the yard when there were meetings and activities within the spaces of the Parliament.
He has said that it was two weeks since VV has taken over the Parliament, journalists are being tortured, allowing them to wait outside at temperatures below zero degrees Celsius. Bytyci estimates that this closure of the media convention spaces is a shame for the VV.
Avni Bytyci's full response on Facebook:
During the past term, Kadri Veselin as Chief Parliamentary had established continued access to the object of the Republic of Kosovo's Assembly for the media, journalists, civil society activists, as well as experts on various fields. We, we had created an open atmosphere in this institution. After all, transparency is not only a principle but, above all, a culture of democracy. Today, I am surprised that almost two weeks later this practice was already created by Mr. Wessel has been banned by the current Kosovo Assembly leadership. Media representatives for hours stay at below zero temperatures (-) because you're denied physical access to the object, that's just shame! In this public fraud of forming the government, at least respect one of the basic principles of democracy, that of transparency. But there is a fundamental problem here that results in this situation. Political parties' meetings should not happen at all in the spaces of the Republic of Kosovo. The Assembly is the bearer of people's sovereignty as a whole. She doesn't know political parties, much less about such activities. That is why the Assembly Administration, including the Media Office, cannot be part of these activities imposed by LVV and LDK in its spaces. These parties seem to have thought that carrying negotiations from the Oda of Isa Mustaf to hotel restaurants and then in the spaces of the Parliament gives these power chairs some institutional flavor. Vetevendosje's spokesperson in his reaction said he personally saw to it that journalists had access to the Assembly, even though that had not happened. But the problem here is the question: Who is the spokesman for a political party to allow, create or enable access to the subject of the Republic of Kosovo? So let the markets for the Government do these two parties in their offices, respecting the minimum transparency, more than we expect!
