2019: Ten thousand and 54 businesses have been registered, close to a thousand and 774 businesses.

The trend of registering and exiting businesses in Kosovo has continued during 2019 at the same rate, while the number of businesses extinct for a year is considered to be disturbing to the country's economy.

Director of Directorate at the Business Record Agency(ARBK) Mehdi Pllasnik says that 11 foreign companies have disappeared in the year we left behind.

Plachnik says that in the month of January alone, 518 businesses were registered, while 71 Sosh were closed.

“in 2019 at ARBK were registered 10,000 54 businesses, while a thousand 774 businesses were closed... The reasons for closure are five, but in most cases they are voluntarily declared. If we take a statistics since 2000 approximately the number of extinctions is about 10 per cent”, Plachic says.

The chairman of the Kosovo Chamber of Economics(OAK), Berat Rukiqii, says that in other countries it may even be the lowest degree of extinct businesses, but bankruptcy procedures and closure are much more serious, and this displaces businesses that enter into these procedures, while in Kosovo there is no bureaucracy to shut down businesses.

Rukiqi says that businesses because of obligations, even because of specific procedures, make a decision to close businesses.

It's not like we have a trend in favor of closing businesses in relation to the trend of those opening. So far, it is not considered one of the economic problems in Kosovo to be the closure of businesses. The causes are largely different. Today everyone wants to try luck, especially those who are aiming for business employment themselves. Then there is the rest that facilitate business closure, and there are legislation. Many businesses because of their commitments, even because of certain procedures, estimate that it is easier to close the business through something else.

Economics expert Mustaf Kadriaj also tells Kosovo Preress that as a result of the poor economic performance of businesses in the country, the number of extinct companies has steadily increased.

In addition, Kadriaj says due to difficulties in financial access and regular credit rates, most businesses are forced to fail.

“As a result of no monetary liquidity, all businesses are trying to access credit, but at the moment of credit access, most businesses are predisposed to fail, because the high interest and economic performance of local businesses in the country is not so satisfactory and, as a result, according to ATK reports, usually within a year there are businesses that close as a result of non-compensional obligations in banks, as well as to statements in the ATK, that at the last moment that doesn't respond to business arrangements for the closure of that business body, he said.

According to him, Kosovo is not well for economic activities and enterprise development, and it is not enough to register a business or obtain a business certificate, but it must live or start economic activity.

According to ARBK data in 2018, there were 9 thousand and 967 businesses registered, while a thousand and 890 were closed.
