Washington-based photo reporter Tom Bernner captured a photo of Trump while he boarded Air Force One in California on Tuesday.
The wind blew up Trump's jacket as he was climbing the stairs of the plane, revealing what seemed to be a $20 in the back pocket.
In a high press Wednesday, curious reporters asked the president why he kept his money in such an uncertain place.
Do you keep money in your pocket?
I do it! I do it!”, he replied, extracting a large “collection of money” from the back pocket of the pants.
Trump explained he had not used the money “for a long time”, but he liked to keep a little “ ” as a tip for hotel staff.
