Kosovo President Hashim Thaci is staying in Paris, where he is attending President Chirac's mortar ceremony in Paris to bid his last farewell to our great friend of our people.
Thaci has written that President Chirac supported Kosovo's aspirin and went against the campaign of genocide and ethnic cleansing of the Milosevic regime.
“Here's what Chirac said in 1999: The Serb authorities' behaviour is unacceptable. Europe cannot accept that on its own land a man and a regime that nearly ten years has been committed in Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and now Kosovo, in ethnic cleansing operations, murder and massacres, to destabilise the entire region. As a result, 200 thousand people were killed and millions displaced. How many families are torn apart, how many martyr cities? Well, that's enough. Everything has been tried to end these cruelty practices. Today we must stop the gears of barbarity and get rid of this regime the tools it has been equipped to perform these operations. For months Americans, Europeans, Russians, together have made considerable efforts to find a balanced and peaceful solution. This was especially true in France during a tour of Rambouille. And in the face of the stubborn refusal of the Serbian government and its president, we had to decide to use force”, President Chirac had said at the time. The people of Kosovo are eternally grateful. Rest in peace, President! HTH (Photo: Reuters)”, he wrote.
