Lacking transparency in terms of public finances is expected to characterise the October 6th snap elections.
That, because the sixth legislature of the Kosovo Parliament has also failed to change the Law on Financing of Political Partys.
And according to civil society representatives, this has been done because of party interest not to declare their incomes, especially during campaign time, KTV reports.
Agnes Haxhiu, from the Kosovo Democratic Institute, believes that with the proposed changes it would become known who are the donors supporting the parties.
And, Arton Demhay, from the organisation “Arise”, says public finance declaration would be easy if there was political will.
But, according to Haxhiu and Demhayan, most political parties are not interested in such an adjustment.
The European Union's office in Kosovo and representatives of civil society asked the Government to pull back the draft bill on the completion of the political parties' financing. All of this, due to interventions by working groups in the country, which are opposed by the EU Office and civil society in Kosovo.
