“Citizens estimate the Kosovo Police as one of the most reliable institutions. Police have added women's participation to 15% a remarkable achievement. About 60% of the police say they speak both Albanian and Serbian. Today, the police are working to ensure that any action creates security across the country. The approach of the Kosovo Police in co-operation with the police in the community turns each police officer into community adaptation. Relations when citizens see police as neighbours have been transformative especially in New York. While the police face all of the US stands side by side with you”, Costett said.
OSCE Ambassador to Kosovo Jan Brathu has said O The SEU has worked and will continue to work on strengthening capacities to fight organised crime.
It is a pleasure and honor to be here to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the foundation of the Kosovo Police. In line with our mandate stemming from the permanent council, one of our priorities was to become a temporary police officer that the OSCE established.
O The SEU trains over 40,000 police officers. Over the years we have continued to contribute to the strengthening of capacities and to fight crime in many areas. We support the Kosovo Police to strengthen even further their capacity to successfully carry out their duties. The OSCE deeply appreciates the concept of police in the community. Through police in the community you're the first to notice crime and terrorism. Through police efforts, we see women rise to positions and I believe we will further mark Kosovo. Kosovo police mark a high trust by citizens, with 61 %s faithful, which is the highest value in all Kosovo institutions. We welcome the opportunity for specialised actions for the coming years to improve police skills in various fields”, he said.
Those statements were made at the 20th anniversary marking the founding of the Kosovo Police.
