Data released on Wednesday this week also shows that there has been a decline in livestock products, at a rate of 0.9 percent. Among the factors that have contributed to this decline, according to agricultural experts, are the demotivatement of farmers from export decline and import growth, inadequate separation of subsidies, as well as large - scale migration of young people abroad.
The publication of the Statistics Agency of Kosovo, among other things, includes data on plant products as well as on livestock products, which is said to have marked a 2.6 - percent decline in 2017.
“in 2018, plant products have scored (for -3.8%), compared to 2017. The fall in the value of plant products can be largely explained by the decline in vegetable production and garden products, as well as of potatoes”, it is said.
