Isis militants reportedly filled cows with explosives in an attack on Iraqi security forces, in what is thought to be the first case of livestock arming.
Two cows were filled with explosives belts and were heading towards military checkpoints in the province of Diyala where Iraqi soldiers had opened fires for “blowing up”, according to reports on the Kurdish page Rudaw.
A civilian was injured in the failed terrorist attack last week, according to this report, Periscope suggests.
Local official Sadik Hysini [Sadiq Hussaini] was quoted as saying that the terrorist group has lost the ability to recruit young and self-inhibited people, and thus are using livestock”.
Isis has been recovering in Iraq after the loss of potassium. Diyala's province has seen a host of terrorist attacks in recent months, despite numerous terrorist operations by Iraqi security forces and the US-led coalition.
