Focusing on the meeting were issues related to the domestic situation in Albania, recent developments in the region and co-operation between the two countries within multilateral organisations.
“Regarding the internal situation in Albania jointly highlighted the need to have a comprehensive dialogue on electoral reform in line with O recommendations SBE/ODHIR. This is essential to further improve the quality of the electoral system and, therefore, democracy in Albania in general,” said Minister Cakaj in a Facebook response.
As for regional issues, Minister Cakaj said that after the Prespa deal, the fundamental issue in the region is reaching the final agreement on normalising relations between the Republic of Kosovo and Serbia.
The “Agreement should end with the recognition of the Republic of Kosovo on the part of Serbia,” said Cakay.
During the meeting the two co-ordinators also stopped, in co-operation within the OSCE, as an important commitment under multilateral co-operation.
“The US is Albania's inevitable political and diplomatic reference,”, Cakaj said. /tch
