Shooting at parties in Kosovo, 44 people arrested for 6 months

The tradition of organizing family holidays in Kosovo has evolved over the years. Already, engagements, weddings, weddings, and other entertainment have taken a very different character. More guests and organization to detail, these family holidays have changed a lot from the past.

But one thing that has not changed in celebrating family joys in the country is firing with firearms.

There is no clear explanation for why Kosovars use guns at family parties, but this is only for fun.

And this pleasure has often cost family members who have shot guns at their parties. Not a few cases of injuries or even deaths of those present.

Only early this year, 44 people have been arrested for shooting guns at family parties.

“7 persons were arrested in Pristina, 6 in Gjilan, 2 in Ferizaj, 11 in Prizren, 6 in Pec, 7 in Gjakova and 5 in southern Mitrovica, Kosovo Police have announced in a response to Express.

Of the 44 people arrested, only 2 were sent to the holding. One from Pristina and one from Peja. Others have been released in regular procedure.

“Pristic 6, Gjilan 6, Ferizaj 2, Prizren 11, Peja 5, Gjakova 7, South Mitrovica 5, total 42 released in regular procedures”, police stress.

In 44 cases recorded during the first seven months of this year, 44 weapons have been confiscated.

Besides family parties, Kosovars fire guns even for New Year's Eve. One such case in Gjilan on January 1st had ended with fatality.

After the motto was changed, the man from the village of Selish of Gjilan had fired a firearm, and by accident the bullet had gone towards his wife. The 62-year-old had been sent to the hospital without signs of life.
