Only early this year, 44 people have been arrested for shooting guns at family parties.
“7 persons were arrested in Pristina, 6 in Gjilan, 2 in Ferizaj, 11 in Prizren, 6 in Pec, 7 in Gjakova and 5 in southern Mitrovica, Kosovo Police have announced in a response to Express.
Of the 44 people arrested, only 2 were sent to the holding. One from Pristina and one from Peja. Others have been released in regular procedure.

In 44 cases recorded during the first seven months of this year, 44 weapons have been confiscated.

Besides family parties, Kosovars fire guns even for New Year's Eve. One such case in Gjilan on January 1st had ended with fatality.
After the motto was changed, the man from the village of Selish of Gjilan had fired a firearm, and by accident the bullet had gone towards his wife. The 62-year-old had been sent to the hospital without signs of life.
