Russian Ambassador to Belgrade seeks <x0) compromise and creative solutions” between Kosovo and Serbia

Russia's Ambassador to Serbia, Aleksandar Bocan-Kharchenko, has said he will try to put “back arms to Serbia, return international law to the region once and for all, and above all the Kosovo issue. He added that “the return of international law to the region” views the main task as ambassador to Serbia, [...]
He added that “the conversion of international law to the region” views it as the main task as ambassador to Serbia, and contributes to the stabilisation of the region, given the experience of participation in international Dayton negotiations and negotiations on the status of Kosovo.
According to him, Russia will support <x0 compromise and creative solutions” acceptable to Pristina and Belgrade, and which Russia could defend at the UN Security Council.
“The solution is possible only in the context of compromise, and our Western partners need to change attitude. Evidence of this is the recent events in Kosovo, and the situation is sometimes very tense. Now I speak very diplomaticly, but the situation is very disturbing. That's what I say in my name, taking into account the previous experience”, Bocan-Kharchenko told the Serbian agency “Tanjug”.
The new Russian ambassador to Belgrade has estimated that, if there is no solution (between Kosovo and Serbia), it could come to the destabilisation of the region because “the resolution of the Kosovo issue is a burden to Serbia, but also to the region as a whole”. He has also said he believes it will come to an international legal solution, though not soon, broadcast Koha.net.
Bocan-Kharchenko said Russia is currently ready to contribute to the resumption of the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue.
If Serbia wants Russia to join a group of states we can unite, why not, but with our position to respect, in accordance with the respect of Resolution 1244. Otherwise we don't get involved, and we don't think that Serbia either does not include”, he said.
According to him, continuing dialogue is not possible if the international community does not pressure Pristina, while stressing that “Pristina is guilty of the failure of the” dialogue, while, according to him, “The EU has not put sufficient pressure on Pristina to implement agreed agreements, such as the Association of Serbian municipalities”.
Bocan-Kharchenko has estimated that the agreement between Kosovo and Serbia is possible if both sides seek compromise and have the will to take into account the interest of the other side as well, and if there are well-involved international intervention and assistance, “but that the problem is that a number of countries impose some extinguishive rules in the case of Kosovo that do not have links with international law”.
Responding to the question of whether demarcation would be compromise, the Russian ambassador to Belgrade said the creative “approach is necessary when compromise is required, but the agreement between Belgrade and Pristina is important because in that case, UN support is possible”.
