The Democratic League of Kosovo tomorrow will hold the electoral assembly in which it will elect the party chairman, Inseder writes.
One of the LDK founders, Milazim Krasniqi, has said Fatmir Sejdiu, Lutfi Haziri or Agim Veliu are qualified candidates to lead the party.
I think the other candidates are also qualified to run the party, such as President Sejdiu, Haziri and Veliu. These are the old figures and pro-minent figures of LDK, which are also the authentic figures of LDK. If the LDK is supposed to come out even more powerful from this assembly, the candidacies of all those who aspire and then win the one who gets the most” votes, Krasniqi has said of the New Age.
He has declared that the party's current statute favours the party leader to be chairman again.
The “Absurdi is that in the party statute, there is a rate that practically only one candidate can have. If the assembly has over 350 delegates, and if more than 50 percent of delegates are required for LDK chairmanship, there is no possibility that there are two candidates. So, deliberately, this rate has been introduced in the statute, in order to prevent the democratic race”, Krasniqi has indicated.
He has said he hopes the LDK will pass this assembly in the right manner, have legitimate leadership and then make amends for future democratic processes in the country.
