This victory was important for the Madrillians because for the first time in 818 days they see themselves on the board before Barça, as the latter were defeated by the Athletic Bilbao [1-0] at the championship opening match.

The last time Real was before Barça on the board was the 2016/17 edition, where Los Blancos won the La League.
