In Washington, the U.S. is launching the world religious freedom movement.

From: Driton Krasniqi may seem that a considerable portion of people may even be unaware that religious freedom extends right into the heart of American democracy. The first amendment to the US Constitution stipulates the state orientation that Congress will not establish any religion or pass any law [...]

In this context freedom, prosperity, but also American power comes from the vision of the American nation's forefathers to promote the unhindered development of faith on their land, to all their citizens. Consequently, the American citizen finds it difficult to understand how in a state or society citizens are hindered from exercising religion or how a government discriminates against them on a religious basis. President Trump, pending the White House of Religious Persecutors, stated that Americans have always understood the right to exercise religion as God's gift, not the State.

In this regard, the U.S. government summoned the largest-ever Religious Freedom Development Minister in the history of the US State Department exclusively devoted to this human freedom. About 1,000 participants, representatives of nearly all different religions of the world, discussed what US Ambassador for Religious Freedom Mr. Sam Brownback called it: Release a worldwide movement for religious freedom.

This is the second and historical ministerial, which I am proud to be part of. Representatives of the state and Kosovo religious communities are also represented in the first Ministerial, where the Postomanak Declaration” was approved. This document reminds all states of the high obligation they have as their instrument for defending religious freedom.

The free and democratic world is deeply shaken by the frightening evidence coming from various countries in the world where people are persecuted because they belong to another religion. China performs mass prisoners of Uygur Muslims and Pakistan kills Christians and destroys churches. Increasing antisemitism is equally disturbing. In a lower but no favourable order, there are countries that obstruct church and cemeteries building for smaller or attempted religious communities.

Under the leadership of the United States, political and religious leaders from around the world are mobilized to beat any growing trend of violation of religious freedom. It must be remembered that there is an International Convention on Human Rights, which Kosovo, even without being a member of the UN, has acknowledged as universal value. According to this statement: “Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and faith; this right includes freedom of change of faith or belief, and freedom for man, whether himself or in community, to display public or privately, his faith or obedience by teaching, performing cults and religious ceremonies”.

Unfortunately, many countries are regularly violating these principles and values. This has pushed Kosovo's friendly country to integrate religious freedom with its foreign policy. This year, the US took the first sanctioning step against top Burmas state officials because of religious persecution against its people.

The Republic of Kosovo is a new state, but with ancient populations. The Bible says that the apostle Paul had preached the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the lands of Iliria by privileged us among the peoples who received the Gospel directly from the apostles. Over the centuries, however, our people have experienced much suffering as invaders have always made sure that on our trains they plant the seeds of their religion. However, the people have preserved their memory of their roots and have cultivated the tradition of coexistence among religions. The heritage of religious diversity has served as a strong inner bond and external protection. Fearing religious diversity, the Albanian people have firmly embraced tolerance, not as a setback from the faith, but as a brother's defense.

Today, Kosovo has the constitution very democratic and impartial in matters of religion, as well as the Law for Freedom of Religion that guarantees the exercise of the individual and community religion. During this year, the country's government has also adopted the decision to free religious communities aimed at creating financial self - concentration.

But we must see reality and identify areas in which our country has become mired in religious freedom, especially smaller communities. I'm mentioning some of the actions that can easily harm our beloved Republic.

  1. Our constitution is vast in matters of religion and stipulates that there is no official religion, but only certain religious communities have accepted funds from the State.
  2. The Republic Parliament has adopted the Law on Freedom of Religion in 2006, but since then MPs from the Republic of Kosovo Assembly have had no civic courage to pass the amendments to this law.
  3. Although the Kosovo Protestant Protestant Church has repeatedly reiterated the demand for the cemetery case since the post-war, the Protestant cemetery file continues.
  4. Despite the fact that tax legislation is quite clear, various attempts are made to take tax measures against the Protestant community.
  5. Although secular, often appointed state officials have played the role of religious cleric on one side and have shown a tendency to deny the existence of other religious communities.

Freedom comes as a package, and no one should exercise their freedom at the expense of another's freedom. A majority religion in one state could be a minority religious community in another country. It has been my repeated appeal that while we are building the state, we will establish unbroken ties with nations that have built religious freedom as the foundation of other freedoms and adopt their best practices. Mr. Secretary of State. Mike Pompeo in his speech was firm that the United States will not withdraw from the protection of religious freedom.

Our society must mobilise to fight those phenomena harm our country by endangering the future of generations. Let's jointly build a society where sin discrimination and hatred will not be allowed to triumph against good and coexistence and mutual respect. The government of the Republic of Kosovo, regardless of who comes to its helm and despite its religious political beliefs, must display deep caution and concrete actions in the function of cultivating religious co-existence. It should never be forgotten that worship of God is a certain human right mandated by God himself. With such a clear vision, Kosovo will not follow the future ministerials with the political rhetoric paushall but as an exemplary state.
