At the Conference for Support of This Category, Thaci has said that we should leave the bitter past behind and build a better future for this category.
With one voice, all of us, we should ask for more support from society. Put the bitter past behind us and build a better future. This category needs more support from institutions, society and all. Our society must become more conscious and do more for survivors. We have to fight stigmatisation”, Thaci said.
The first member of the state has said that since the war ended in 1999, for survivors of sexual violence it has never ended because of fear of sygamtism.
This category suffers in silence, let's not allow this war to last any longer. We must encourage survivors to face the bitter past. We need to, not stigmatize. Let's be their voice. Even sexual violence has been a means of fighting Serbian criminals. They did it to destroy our honor and dignity, try to strip us of human emotions. However, survivors of sexual violence are not guilty of their past. They are victims that more than anyone needs support. Society should not allow criminals to reach their goal. We need to speak and seek justice for victims of sexual violence exercised by Serbia. War crimes don't age, but not reporting them, they get amnistered. It's never too late to report cases. With fair law enforcement, justice is brought to the victims of”, Thaci has said further.
A silent amnesty of international justice has occurred in front of Serbian criminals. In addition to justice, we also seek clarification of this cast amnesty. No convicted sexual violence by UNMIK. The systematic violence and macabre crimes that are in Serbia's highest state institutions. This is being silenced by the international community. It's an amnipresent silence. It's a big concern for us. We must have full support for the victims. But even to clearly explain why justice has been brought about for crimes committed by the Serbian state”, Thaci continued./ P ERISCOPIA
