The deal was confirmed on Fiorentina's official page, with the club paying 1m euros to buy the former Barcelona player's card, Periscopi broadcasts.
The 32-year-old is extremely experienced after past seasons with Tottenham Hotspur, Borussia Dortmund, Schalke, Eintracht Frankfurt and Milan, winning a Scoudto and Supercup with the Reds.
He scored five goals in 15 presentations for Susswall before spending the second half of the Barcelona season, where he played only four times but without finding the goal.
Boateng becomes the first major signing of the Rocco Commisso era in “Artimo Franzhi”.
