About this visit, the Serbian newspaper Blic '%s' reported that Macron now has a new stance against Kosovo. According to them, it has come to this end because of the prime minister's disobedience, Ramush Haradinaj towards France and Germany to remove the tax on Serbian products.
This is being denied by the Government of Kosovo. Donjeta Gashi, spokeswoman of the Government, has told the news that relations between our country and France are steadfast.
Kosovo and France's “Relations stand firm and these are facts, on the basis of inter-institutional and non-declarative co-operation. As a new animal witness, we also have the fact that for a short time Prime Minister Haradinaj has met with France's Minister of Internal Affairs in Paris and France's prime minister during the Postan Summit”, Gashi has declared.
According to her, this partnership is long-term, and the country's government is committed to empowering these reports of mutual interest.
“In recent meetings Prime Minister Haradinaj has requested the French side's support for visa liberalisation, and what we have received from France in response is that this country will not prevent this process and also support Kosovo in the integration processes”, Gashi has concluded.
Macron will travel to Belgrade on 15th this month, while Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, has confirmed that with French counterpart, I will talk about resolving the century-old issue with Kosovo.
As for a possible visit to Kosovo, this has not been mentioned.
It is noteworthy that recently, Macro has had a negative attitude towards EU enlargement, and on this issue it is said to give an important message to the Serbian president.
