Justice Minister Abelard Tahiri, under the competencies of the Law for International Co-operation in Criminal Affairs, has authorised a joint operation between local and German bodies against organised crime.
Based on the bilateral Agreement in power, local authorities in co-operation with German ones realised one of the most successful operations, resulting in material testimony collection, as well as freezing property for several suspects, regarding criminal work “money laundering”.
Minister Tahiri's full statement:
Under competencies that allow me the Law for International Co-operation in Criminal Affairs, I have authorised a joint operation between local and German bodies in the fight against organised crime, which has been conducted in several locations of the Republic of Kosovo.
The profile of our Republic every day and more is being strengthened in bilatheral and multilatheral partnerships against crime, in line with the countries of the European Union and beyond.
During the past year alone, Germany has accomplished 33 extraditions. The operation yesterday shows deepening co-operation between the two countries, and once again confirms the credibility of our institutions against our international partners.
As justice minister, I have tried and will constantly try to make sure that the name of the Republic of Kosovo is not reference to organised crime and that our state is no refuge, no transit country and no place of origin of crime.
We will continue with dedication that our approach to organised crime will take on almighty dimensions at all levels
