The fight against Islamic State [ ISIS] in Iraq and Syria has flooded our daily news with disturbing statistics of massacres, massive migration, and human faces and confessions in the heart of that conflict.

I could read all the articles, books, and accounts in the world for what led to the war in Iraq and Syria, but this is not an experience. The reality was that my curiosity led me to those places to see what my eyes had done, in independent form and unmediated by the media.
