The Council for Protection of Human Rights and Freedoms has reacted to the move to secure PDK offices against members of civil society who protested yesterday in front of political parties' headquarters to oppose the Law on Financing Political Subjects.
KMDLNj says the PDK should publicly apologise to civil society.
“in this context, though The PDK has distanced itself from the security action by calling it a misunderstanding, expects to take another step further by asking public forgiveness to members of the civil society's protest march and thus prove the readiness for normal and democratic communication with civil society as a necessary condition for the construction, maintenance and functioning of democracy, which is also called PDK”, says KMDLNj response.
KMDLNj commemorates the opinion as well as the political subjects that the right to protest is regulated by law and is basic human right and should as such be respected by all as there is peaceful character.
In concrete case, KMDLNI estimates it is also the interest of political subjects to discuss with civil society the Law on Financing Political Subjects in order to become acceptable to all and in line with international standards.
“would be very positive and politically affirmative if yesterday, instead of securing the PDK headquarters facility to deal with peaceful protesters, someone from the head of The PDK will accept civil policy protest representatives to offices and discuss the bill in question. So should other subjects”, KMDLNj points out. /Kosovo pres/
